New Here?

Your first visit, step by step

If you've never had a professional massage — or it's simply been a while — here's exactly how a visit to Zen Within unfolds. No surprises, no pressure, nothing to figure out on your own.

  1. Before you arrive

Book online or reach out with any questions — there's no wrong question. Wear whatever is comfortable. Arrive a few minutes early so your session can start unhurried, and skip heavy meals right beforehand.

  2. A conversation first

Every appointment begins with a short conversation: how you're feeling, where you're holding tension, any injuries or sensitivities, and the pressure you're comfortable with. Your session is built from that — not from a script.

  3. Getting settled

You'll have the private room to yourself to get comfortable. For table massage you undress to your own level of comfort and remain professionally draped the entire session — only the area being worked is uncovered. Reiki and Thai-style sessions are fully clothed.

  4. During your session

Pressure, temperature, music, positioning — anything can be adjusted at any point. Speaking up is welcome, never an inconvenience. Your only job is to breathe and let go.

  5. Afterward

Take your time getting up. Drink water, move gently, and expect to feel looser and calmer — mild next-day soreness after deeper work is normal, like after exercise. Melinda will share simple recommendations to help the benefits last between visits.

A private room, all to yourself

Zen Within is a single, quiet treatment room — not a busy spa floor. There's no front-desk crowd, no overlapping appointments, and no rushing. Parking is directly outside the suite, and the time you book belongs entirely to you.

Still unsure about anything? Browse the common questions, take a look at the studio, or call 803-859-9136 — Melinda is happy to talk it through.
